(Dublin, OH) Dublin City Council approved the six applications submitted for Spring 2024 Beautify Your Neighborhood Grants. The grant applications were first reviewed by the City’s Community Development Committee, which recommended approval.
The Beautify Your Neighborhood Matching Grant Program was established in 2011 to provide funding assistance on an annual basis to support Dublin Homeowners Associations and Civic Associations in enhancing their neighborhood with high-quality, sustainable beautification projects that benefit and enhance the Dublin community.
Project Descriptions:
Belvedere ($3,927.17)
The project is on the east and west sides of the main entry at Brand Road and Abbie Glen Boulevard. Three diseased London Plane trees were removed in 2022, and a soil test is being conducted to diagnose the disease source. The remaining diseased London Plane tree will be removed. A landscape plan was created to install two European Beech trees. Residents have volunteered to plant five Crabapple trees, Boxwood shrubs and various perennials.
Cramer’s Crossing ($2,725)
The project includes the east and west sides of the development’s Rings Road main entry at Pensworthy Drive and the landscape beds surrounding the pond south of Cramer’s Crossing Drive. Commercial-grade, low-voltage, solar powered landscape lighting will be installed to improve the safety in the neighborhood. Evergreens will be added to screen lighting at entry features.
Donegal Cliffs ($5,000)
The project includes both sides of the main entry features at Donegal Cliffs Drive and Dunleary Drive off Dublin Road. Invasive honeysuckle and seven trees and Liriope that have died due to pH levels in the soil will be removed. A study will analyze and treat the soil to rebalance pH levels. Plant replacements include Redbud ‘Forest Pansy’ and Green Giant Arborvitae trees, Hardy Hibiscus and flowering Viburnum across the four entry features. The existing entryway lighting will be upgraded with six additional shielded landscape lights.
Riverside Woods ($5,000)
The development’s entryway island will receive new landscaping including various shrubs, perennials, annuals and Lilac trees. Existing grasses and new Viburnums will be planted within the southwest entryway to screen utilities. All plant species are appropriate for the Ohio climate.
The Fairways at Muirfield ($5,000)
The project area includes the front entry feature, sign, and landscaping northeast of Preston Mill Way and Carnoustie Drive. The deteriorating sign face will be replaced with a new 12.75-square-foot stone sign on top of the existing stone base columns. The sign landscaping will be replaced with a variety of native perennials, evergreens and a Redbud tree.
Wyandotte Woods ($5,000)
The project areas include the north side of the entry feature along Wyandotte Woods Boulevard, and six cul-de-sac islands: Holiston Court, Windy Hill Court, Silver Rose Court, Boylston Court, Lanham Court and Calvert Court. A landscape plan includes a variety of flowering perennials, grasses and a Magnolia tree.

The first Beautify Your Neighborhood Grant was awarded in 2011. Since then, City staff has worked with numerous associations to identify possible beautification projects and assist in application preparation. Potential projects include entry features enhancements with new signs and lighting, updated landscape beds, benches, removal of invasive species and art installation among others.
